Assistant Principal of Curriculum and Instruction

Under the direction of the principal, serves as an educational leader of the school. Supervises, and promotes the professional development of faculty and academic staff personnel. Organizes and implements the professional development program, Ensures integration of technology into instruction, curriculum programs, and academic progress. Facilitates the work of the Professional Learning Community to provide data driven curriculum and instruction.

Evening Security

Evening security personnel report directly to the Dean of Students, and are responsible for the overall security of the Garces Memorial High School (GMHS) campus to ensure the safety of students, faculty, and staff, and the protection of school property.  Security personnel will accomplish this through the following job duties:

Reports to: Dean of Students
Compensation: $16.50/hour   
Hours: Up to 20 hours/week
FLSA: Part-Time Non-Exempt

Responsibilities
  Assist with security of evening school events.
  Monitor the athletic facilities and the west end of campus.
  Monitor the campus and perimeter of the campus.
  Ensure the campus is locked and secured every evening.
- Check and lock all doors campus wide.
- Check and lock all gates; internal and external.
  Report any suspicious activity to the Bakersfield Police Department and the supervising Administrator.
  Notify the supervising Administrator of any campus defects such as broken doors, gates, windows, etc.
  Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications / Experience
  Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred.
  Experience working in educational settings is a plus.

Certifications (Preferred)
  CPR and First Aid certification.
  Training in conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques.

Skills
  Strong observational and surveillance skills.
  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  Ability to handle emergencies and make quick decisions.
  Integrity and professionalism.
  Ability to work well with students, staff, and parents.
  Patience and a calm demeanor in stressful situations.

Physical Requirements
  Ability to stand or walk for extended periods.
  Physically capable of performing security-related tasks, including pursuing and restraining individuals if necessary.

Student Support Aide

Student Support Aid works under the supervision of student support teams to provide instructional and behavioral support to students with disabilities. Support will be delivered in inclusive classrooms, and other campus environments for the entirety of the school day. The Aide works 1:1 with assigned students to build academic, communication, social, and independent living skills.

Reports to: Student Support Team
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Work Schedule: Full-time (10-month school year)

Minimum Qualifications
  High school diploma or equivalent.
  Experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) preferred.

Preferred Qualifications
  Experience working with students with disabilities, especially autism spectrum disorder (ASD), ADHD, or learning differences.
  Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles is a plus.
  First Aid/CPR Certification.

Admissions Coordinator

The Admissions Coordinator is responsible for managing the admissions process for prospective students at Garces Memorial High School.   This role involves promoting the school’s mission, facilitating a welcoming and informative experience for families, and ensuring a smooth application process.

Reports To: Director of Admissions
Employment Type: Part-Time Hourly
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Qualifications
  Bachelor’s degree in education, communications, marketing, or a related field preferred.
  Previous experience in customer service, admissions, student services, or a related role, ideally in a Catholic educational setting.
•   Strong understanding of Catholic values and the mission of Catholic education.
  Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
•   Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with diverse audiences.
•   Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite and experience with admissions software is a plus.
•   Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Long-Term Substitute Teacher – Biology & Chemistry

Garces Memorial High School is seeking a qualified and passionate Long-Term Substitute Teacher to teach High School Biology and Chemistry. The substitute teacher will be responsible for delivering instruction aligned with state standards and school curriculum, fostering a positive and engaging learning environment, and maintaining continuity of instruction during the teacher's leave of absence.

Reports To: Principal or Assistant Principal
Duration: 8/4/25-12/20/25
FLSA Status: Exempt

Qualifications Required
  Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Science Education, or a related field.
  Prior experience teaching or substitute teaching at the high school level.

Qualifications Preferred
  Single Subject Credential in Science (Biological Sciences and/or Chemistry).
  Experience teaching both Biology and Chemistry in a high school setting.
  Familiarity with lab safety protocols and hands-on lab instruction.
  Strong classroom management skills.
  Ability to integrate technology into instruction effectively.
