Parent participation is a vital part of Garces Memorial High School.
A sense of joint responsibility shared by parents and teachers forms the basis of the Faith Community in which the child will be nurtured and will grow into a happy, responsible adult. A program that brings about successful parent-teacher interaction assures that the task of educating the child is a cooperative responsibility. We encourage all our students' parents to be actively involved members in the Garces family.

Important Information About the 2019-2020 School Year

All Incoming Freshman, Transfer and International Students

Immunization Records are due by Wednesday August 7th. Please submit a hard copy to the school. Students who do not have an immunization record on file will NOT be allowed to attend the first day of classes. International students please provide your immunization records translated to English prior to submitting to Garces Memorial.

Required Business Office Paperwork for ALL Families (Due Wednesday, August 7th)

Garces requires ALL families (new and returning) to fill out a new tuition contract each school year.

ALL families will be required to set up a FACTS account. This will replace Smart Tuition.

We also require a new iPad User Agreement on file each school year.

New Families (Freshman & Transfers) must sign and return the delinquency policy to the Business Office.

Service Hour Information (Updated for 2019-2020)

Our mission at Garces calls us to teach and inspire our students to be Christ-like in all they do. Their spiritual formation is paramount to their development as children of God. Christ calls us to serve others and Garces asks our students to do the same. Click here to read more about the program and requirements for all students. 

Parent Service Hours- The PSI and Financial Aid hours program is now automated through mobileserve allowing our families to track your own hours.  Download the instructions to set up your PSI or Financial Aid account.  Please note, if you are receiving tuition assistance and have already received your work assignments, please register under the Financial Aid group.

 

Student Service Hours- Using the same mobileserve app students can now track their community service hours.  Download the instructions to have your student set up their service app for the 2019-20 school year.  Please make sure your student uses the code associated with their class. Students are required to complete a minimum of 15 hours per year with the focus on the 3 Cs (5 hrs. for community, 5 hrs. for campus, 5 hrs. for churches).  All previous hours submitted will be added to the student accounts.

Garces Memorial High School Bookstore is now LIVE online.  Garces will continue our partnership with Follett Virtual Campus.  Enjoy fast shipping – most print textbook orders are shipped the same or next day via FedEx.

*Fog Delay Information

GMHS follows the Kern High School District determination of a Fog Delay. In the event that KHSD calls a Fog Delay, we will observe the appropriate Fog Delay bell schedule. Fog Delay notification will also be sent through the Garces App available via your smart phone App Store.
