On Saturday, Nov. 9, the Garces baseball team is hosting the inaugural Garces Hot Stove dinner.
This year, two legendary names in Southern California baseball history will be guest speakers with Tommy John and Rick Vanderhook.
John won 228 games in his 26-year Major League Baseball career and is well-known for his namesake on the successful surgical procedure named after him.
Vanderhook has been the head baseball coach at Cal State Fullerton since 2012, leading the Titans to five Big West Conference championships.
“We are really excited about Saturday night,” Garces baseball coach Bryan Haney said. “We think this will allow our kids and our parents to grow in their understanding of the game of baseball. It’s great to have high-end speakers like these two that can share their experience with us and our parents.”
Tickets are $100 and will include a Luigi’s steak dinner and can be purchased by contacting Maria Toretta at (661) 201-3228 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The social hour begins at 6 p.m. with dinner served at 7 p.m.
